The cross-linked polyethylene insulated cable adopts the peroxide crosslinking method, which makes the polyethylene molecule change from linear molecular structure to three-dimensional network structure, from thermoplastic material to thermosetting material, and the working temperature increases from 70 ℃ to 90 ℃, significantly improving the current carrying capacity of the cable. XLPE insulated cable has the following advantages:
1. Heat resistance: XLPE with reticulated three-dimensional structure has excellent heat resistance. It will not decompose and carbonize under 300 ℃, and its long-term working temperature can reach 90 ℃, and its thermal life can reach 40 years.
2. Insulation performance: XLPE maintains the original good insulation characteristics of PE, and the insulation resistance is further increased. Its dielectric loss tangent is very small and is not affected by temperature.
3. Mechanical properties: due to the establishment of new chemical bonds between macromolecules, the hardness, rigidity, wear resistance and impact resistance of XLPE are improved, thus making up for the defects of PE that is easy to crack due to environmental stress.

4. Chemical resistance: XLPE has strong acid and alkali resistance and oil resistance, and its combustion products are mainly water and carbon dioxide, which has less harm to the environment and meets the requirements of modern fire safety.
